The mobile Web is dominated by the following two search engines:
A mobile search is very different from a standard search. Because of
limitations of the mobile set, HTML content gets reduced to XHTML. Not all
sites are easily readable or navigable.
In addition to XHTML, the search engines will drive traffic to web pages specifically designed for mobile sets. Examples are XHTML Mobile Profile, cHTML and WML.
To achieve maximum reach in the mobile search engines, companies must focus on two goals:
(1) The standard HTML content must be extremely visible, even after the XHTML conversion.
(2) Vital content needs to reside on an unique optimized mobile web site.
